Jimmy Smith – 100% loss record

First up on the list of worst boxers of all time is Jimmy Smith, one fight one loss. Doesn’t sound too bad really? You have to watch it. Jim’s boxing career lasted 22 seconds in the ring and it was painful to watch. He looked in shape and came as a suprise the second he threw a punch! The worst technique I have ever seen. Had he ever walked into a boxing gym before? Was it some cruel joke? He never even landed a single punch! This guy had a 3-0 amateur record; I want to see the guys he beat.
Definitely one of the worst boxers of all time.
“The Shadow”
Next on the list of worst boxers of all time is “the shadow” we can’t find his real name – we can’t find much about him to be honest. I’d probably lay low too if I was him. He is in his own words “creator of Illusive Fighting style” and his training methods were “light Jogging, and dodging cars at busy intersections” Let’s hope we never see him in a ring ever again. Clearly one of the worst boxers of all time.
Lets hope he never entered the ring ever again
Brian Sutherland – “epic mullet”
Brian’s professional career lasted about the same amount as the others on this list, just 56 seconds. However his short-lived bout lives on. Former heavyweight champ Larry Holmes headlined the card in Bay St. Louis and attracted the USA Network broadcast Tuesday Night Fights – Sutherland wasn’t even supposed to be there. His opponent Kenny Rainford was a good prospect and was due to fight someone completely different but unfortunately for Brian he pulled out.
Rainford and his trainer Beau Williford looked over at Sutherland shadowboxing before the opening bell. Williford leaned in and whispered into Rainford’s ear. “The faster you can get out of there, the better it’ll be for everybody.”
They could tell how bad he was going to be, just looking at him.
Honorable mentions
Kristian Laight – 300 fights, 279 losses
Kristian Laight was a 15-year professional journeyman who fought in the lightweight division from 2003 to 2018. Although nothing like the “boxers” above he does have the most losses of any fighter. However, that doesn’t make him one of the worst boxers of all time. He played his role. He was featured in a chapter of the 2014 book Journeymen: The Other Side of the Boxing Business by Mark Turley

“without guys like him the pro game wouldn’t exist”
Former WBC Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew
Charlie Zelenoff – Internet troll
A bully, a troll and definitely one of the worst boxers of all time. He claims to have a 240-0 unbeaten record Despite being 0-1 on Boxrec Footage of him being beaten up by Deontay Wilder, Mayweather snr (60 years old at the time) and a 16 year old is all over Youtube.

Jake Paul and Logan Paul?
Both Paul brothers often are considered to be bad for boxing for some. They have both earned much more than some world champions have made through their entire career. Logan Paul is still yet to win a fight so and argument could be made he is one of the worst boxers of all time. Say what you want but he won’t care with the millions he’s took from the sport.

However, Jake Paul is clearly the better fighter of the two and many boxers say he’s got good ability. His opposition hasn’t been at the levels people want to see but he’s only had a few fights. People forget that often new professionals fight people with terrible boxing records. It’s common to be fighting journeymen who on paper are the worst boxers of all time for the first 5-10 fights.
Jake Paul continues to get hate though because he is a very public figure, he has good potential of beating some good opposition in the future. Recently loosing to Tommy Fury has done little to his credibility with some people respecting him more for the effort.
It’s easy to be an armchair fan and call the shots but boxers do put their life on the line every time they step in the ring for our entertainment and they should be respected for it. In saying that you have to draw the line, its not for everyone (as you’ve seen today) it takes a special kind of human to do it and to do it well. Back to the armchair Charlie!
