Many people wrap their hands very differently but some factors always remain the same
- Protect the wrist – One of the most common injuries for boxers are in the wrist, they take a long, long time to recover from.

Now with boxing gloves unlike hand wraps you really get what you pay for and quality is almost always associated with price that still doesn’t mean you need to break the bank. Realistically for advance boxers they will have multiple gloves for different training. 16oz gloves for sparring and heavy bag, 12oz for pads and so on. If working towards a budget I would recommend one pair of reasonable gloves rather than two cheap pairs at different size.

- If you are trying to keep costs down find an lightweight, durable and comfortable shoe. Boots are only really required for competition.
- If you opt for a boot you may not want to train in them 24/7. They are not as hard wearing as a traditional shoe.
- Do not buy the cheapest boots available on the market – you will be replacing them so often it would have been more financially viable to spend a bit more on some more durable ones.
Gum shield/mouthguard
When it comes to boxing training, a gum shield is an essential piece of protective equipment.
